LOGGING IN : HERE'S HOW to Log In to Password-Protected Resources and Your Library Account

Most important thing:  When prompted to log in or authenticate, READ the on-screen instructions.

When You See This

1. Per the on-screen example, type your name and move to the next box.

2. Your ‘unique campus ID’ is the number on your KCAI ID card, followed by kcai.  So if the  ID # on your card is 54321, you will type 54321kcai.  (No spaces. That’s it.  Easy.)

If you aren't able to log in when following these instructions, contact Jannes Library staff through the chat box on this page or email us at: library@kcai.edu.

Tips for Searching for Articles

  • Search 3 databases at the same time by clicking Choose Databases once you are in Art & Architecture Source.
    • Select: Art & Architecture Source, Academic Search Elite and Masterfile Premier
    • Within these databases, use the left panel to filter results.   Checking off "Full Text" will limit your results to items with a PDF or HTML text
    • Use the tools on the right hand panel within each item record to export citations, print, email articles to yourself and save.
  • Place words within quotation marks to search for exact phrases (“to be or not to be”)
  • Build your search using AND to construct a better search (“tea trade” AND china)
    • For more ways to use Wildcards and Punctuation to make searching easier, click here
  • IN JSTOR, the CITE this Item tool is on the right on the main page, and under the image of the journal cover when you are in the record
